This website was created through a collaborative effort between the Tech Valley Standing Committee, a group of regional Superintendents, the Greater Capital Region Career Pathways Consortium, Capital Region BOCES, Questar III, and the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES.
Through funding resources from all entities - this regional web resource was created - to provide relevant and local information regarding the high tech industries and the growing careers within the greater capital region.
The Greater Capital Region Career Pathways Consortium
A partnership between Hudson Valley Community College, Capital Region BOCES, Columbia-Greene Community College, Questar III BOCES, Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES, Schenectady County Community College, and SUNY Cobleskill. The Consortium is funded under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 under the direction of the New York State Education Department. The GCRCPC is developing new programs in green technologies, advanced manufacturing systems, nanotechnology and bioscience at both the high school and college level.
Capital Region BOCES
The Capital Region BOCES delivers more than 160 educational and administrative services to its 23 component school districts and to the City School District of Albany. Combined, these districts educate more than 80,000 students in the New York State counties of Albany, Schoharie, Schenectady and Saratoga. In addition, Capital Region BOCES provides many services to approximately 120 school districts outside the Capital Region area.
Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES
The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES provides a range of cost-effective shared educational and support programs that complement our 31 component school districts in strengthening the quality of living and learning in their communities. WSWHE BOCES services over 42,500 students of all ages and abilities in these 31 school districts in Washington, Saratoga, Warren, Hamilton, and Essex counties.
Questar III BOCES
Questar III provides more than 250 instructional and support services to 23 school districts with about 40,000 students in Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene counties of New York State. Questar III also provides additional services to approximately 600 school districts and all 37 BOCES in New York State.
