Green or renewable energy focuses on the development and production of processes, materials, and products that are sustainable resources with minimal effects on the environment. The United States currenly relies on fossil fuels, like coal and oil, for energy. These resources are non-renewable, costly, and environmentally damaging to retrieve. The efforts in the Green Energy sector are establishing ways to utilize resources like the sun and wind to create energy sources that are constantly replenished and will never run out.

Green energy includes biomass, geothermal, wind power, and solar energy.
